Stoke City completed the signing of Super Eagle player
According to AFP reports Stoke City has completed the signing of Nigeria midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo from Portuguese side Feirense. Etebo took a break from his World Cup preparations to complete the signing.
Etebo will be representing Nigeria when the World Cup gets underway in Russia on Thursday. He was selected in the squad by Coach Gernot Rohr.
The 22-year-old is now free to commits on his international duty with the Super Eagle of Nigeria after leaving Portuguese side Feirense to switch to the newly relegated team Stoke City in a deal that worth £6.35m
Etebo signed a five-year contract with the club, who relegated from the Premier League this season and are hoping to win promotion from the Championship back to the premiership next season under their new manager Gary Rowett. Rowett expressed his joy for securing the signature of the talented midfielder.
Etebo was loaned to Las Palmas in La Liga in January where he spent the second half of last season, and he will join his new team-mates at Stoke after the World Cup.
He has appeared 14 times for Nigeria and he came on as a substitute in last week’s friendly defeat against England at Wembley.
