Zuma: Justice in Wave by Salaam Rasak O.

Wavered by the administration of justice in Africa and the notoriety of bad governance aided by poor leadership, there is an overwhelming need to examine the latest political development in South Africa against the backdrop of political repositioning in the country and the continent as a whole.

The nine years throned President, Jacob Zuma, had an outer on Wednesday, 14th of February, 2018, when he tendered resignation of office due to pressure over 793 allegations levelled against him. Zuma was further nailed when his own party, African National Congress, ANC, expelled him as the President and further threaten him to resign, else face a vote of no confidence from the parliament.

More importantly, the volte-face demonstrated by the ANC in light of upholding the truth without considering whose ox is gored is worthy of commendation. There is no gainsaying that Zuma’s inglorious end has an absence of persecution. It is gladdened that it was an internal intrusion and the opposition political party only exist as observer.

Forthwith, a new dawn could be acclaimed to be birth with the inauguration of hitherto Vice President, Cyril Ramaphosa as the substantial President yesterday. Beyond South Africa political overtures, there is a compelling need for African countries to model this development. Democracy is becoming theoretically age-long in Africa and must also be deepened practically. All roads to achieving this target rests on good leadership and governance. Until we begin to demand for it like did South Africans, there is no road to real happiness either for the society or individual.
